Our new website has been launched and it is a wonderful improvement on the old site. We hope it is accessible to all viewers.
The Association has been very busy this year and we can say that we are back to the situation that existed before Covid.
Our twice monthly luncheon club had been going from strength to strength and about 25 of our members attend. In addition, we have had two recent visits to the nearby pubs for lunch. Thank you to the staff at both the Rose & Crown and the Golden Goose pubs.
This year, too, we will have been to four shows at The Palace Theatre watching musicals and the annual pantomime. In November, we are going to see Shrek. These live shows are well attended and carers accompany some of those with mobility issues.
We have said goodbye to our treasurer, Joyce Bush, who has been so hardworking and loyal to the Association for many years. She has retired and we wish her well. Thank you. Joyce.
We have welcomed two new trustees. Graham Morgan is our new treasurer, a man with a wealth of financial expertise, and Pat Pemberton who has brought with her many business and organisation skills to update and improve many areas of our governance. Both are an extremely valuable addition to our trustee board.
Finances have remained healthy and we have received monies from the Redditch Mayoral Charity of the year and from collections at Morrison’s and Tesco’s, all of which have added to our financial security.
We are so lucky to have the support of Redditch people who are generous and always good natured towards us. We have other collections for next year in the pipeline.
Our Christmas party at Webheath village hall is on Saturday 3rd December and our Mayor, Ann Isherwood, is hoping to attend.
So, I can truly say that the Association flourishes and provides support to those who are blind, partially sighted or have a significant sight loss in the Borough.
In addition, I must add my thanks to our trustees and volunteers who make the activities possible. Thank you all.
